CDC extends mask mandate for public transit

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has extended the federal mask mandate for public transit for an additional two weeks after a slight uptick in the number of COVID-19 cases across the country. The mandate will now last until May 3 to allow more time to study the BA.2 omicron subvariant that is now responsible for the vast majority of cases in the U.S.
