Kash Patel confirmed as FBI Director
The Senate voted 51-49 to confirm Kash Patel as FBI director on Thursday. Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., voted "yes" on the conservative firebrand's confirmation, even while moderates Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Susan Collins (R-ME) voted "no." Patel faced a rockier path to confirmation than most of President Trump's other nominations. The only other nominee to receive more than one GOP nay was Trump's pick for Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth, who scored 3 noes from Republican senators.
