David Carlson, former roommate of Vance Boelter—the suspect wanted in the shootings of Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, as well as Sen. John Hoffman and his wife Yvette—shared an emotional message about his friend. Carlson urged Boelter not to harm himself or put himself in any more danger. He also said that Vance’s phone goes straight to voicemail, and he has been unable to reach him. “I love him, and he’s still my best friend. I hope he doesn’t hurt anyone else, and I hope he surrenders for the sake of his family,” Carlson said.
