Shutdown continues with Senate vote expected Friday

We?re now nearly 48 hours into the government shutdown, with little sign of it ending anytime soon. Senators left Capitol Hill earlier today for Yom Kippur. They are likely to return on Friday and will vote again on a GOP measure to extend federal funding.
