Texas Floods: Camp Mystic co-owner killed while trying to save campers

Crews continue to search for survivors after severe flash floods devastated parts of central Texas over the July 4th holiday weekend. Among those missing are several girls that were staying at Camp Mystic, a Christian summer camp stationed along the Guadalupe River banks. At the same time, reports came in that the co-owner of Camp Mystic, Dick Eastland, was one of the people found dead at the camp site. Rep. August Pfluger (R-TX) posted to X stating, "Camp Mystic's Dick Eastland no doubt gave his life attempting to save his campers. For decades he and his wife Tweet poured his life into loving and developing girls and women of character. Thank you Mr. Eastland. We love you and miss you."
