A fire broke out around 1:30 a.m. Sunday in a Queens home, killing three people and injuring several others. The blaze quickly spread due to unsafe modifications in the house. One person remains in critical condition; four others and four firefighters sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Over 100 FDNY personnel responded, and the fire was under control by 3 a.m. Officials found no working smoke detectors and signs of hazardous conditions.
