Ryan is the older half brother of Tylee Ryan and JJ Vallow who was adopted into the family. The most dramatic part of Colby's testimony came when the jury listened to a phone call between him and Vallow as she sat in jail. "To know they're gone and you knew and my phone's being texted by my little sister who's not even alive," Ryan said on the call. "My little brother, who's the sweetest little kid ever.
