Appeals court rules border asylum ban illegal

LiveNOW’s Shawna Khalafi is speaking with Andrea Flores, a former Department of Homeland Security and White House official after an appeals court blocked President Donald Trump’s executive order suspending asylum access at the southern border. The Associated Press has reported that a three-judge panel from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit found that immigration laws give people the right to apply for asylum at the border. The court reportedly ruled that the president can’t circumvent that.
