Israel approved plans on Monday to capture the entire Gaza Strip and remain in the territory for an unspecified amount of time, two Israeli officials said, in a move that if implemented would vastly expand Israel?s operations in the Palestinian territory and likely bring fierce international opposition. Israeli Cabinet ministers approved the plan in an early morning vote, hours after the Israeli military chief said the army was calling up tens of thousands of reserve soldiers. President Trump calls for Alcatraz to be reopened
video

President Trump called for Alcatraz prison to be reopened in a Truth Social post Sunday evening. The prison, located on an island in the San Francisco Bay, was home to many notorious criminals before closing in 1963. It's currently operated by the National Park Service and is a tourist destination, accessible by ferry. "I am directing the Bureau of Prisons, together with the Department of Justice, FBI, and Homeland Security, to reopen a substantially enlarged and rebuilt ALCATRAZ, to house America’s most ruthless and violent Offenders. We will no longer be held hostage to criminals, thugs, and Judges that are afraid to do their job and allow us to remove criminals, who came into our Country illegally. The reopening of ALCATRAZ will serve as a symbol of Law, Order, and JUSTICE," Trump said in his post. Al Capone, Whitey Bulger and George "Machine-Gun" Kelly are some of Alcatraz's most well-known inmates. Despite being difficult to escape due to the frigid bay waters, Alcatraz is infamous for an escape mystery. In 1962, Frank Morris, John Anglin and Clarence Anglin escaped from their cells and were never seen again.
