EPA takes aim at Tijuana sewage crisis, Zeldin speaks

EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin spoke on Thursday from San Diego County. He discussed the decades-old Tijuana sewage crisis that has remained a problem for the South Bay community. Zeldin is the 17th administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency and was sworn in on January 29, 2025. He has made it a priority to deliver a “100% solution” to the reported sewage problem that has impacted Imperial Beach. While in California, Zeldin met with small business owners and elected officials who say they have been impacted by what has often been described as a long-standing environmental issue in the area.
