DOJ releases new video of WHCA shooting

Freshly released surveillance footage from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner attack has intensified scrutiny over security failures at one of Washington’s highest-profile events. The video reportedly shows suspect Cole Allen being flagged by a security dog moments before rushing through a checkpoint and opening fire, injuring a Secret Service agent protected by a ballistic vest. Investigators say Allen had allegedly scoped out the Washington Hilton hotel a day earlier, raising serious questions about missed warning signs. This week the suspect agreed to remain in jail ahead of trial. Criminal Defense Attorney Skye Lazaro weighs in.
