Teachers’ union boss Randi Weingarten worked herself up during a speech outside the Supreme Court on Tuesday, comparing President Biden’s student loan handout to the COVID-19 small business loans of 2020. Weingarten, the president of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), spoke at the Student Debt Crisis Center’s rally in Washington as Supreme Court justices heard a pair of challenges to Biden’s student loan debt handout, which would cancel $10,000 in federal student loans for individuals making less than $125,000 per year or households earning less than $250,000 annually as of 2020 or 2021.
