President Trump signed into law Monday the "Take It Down" bill, which bans the nonconsensual publication of sexually explicit images and videos online both authentic and computer-generated. The legislation also bans threats to publish intimate photos and videos, including AI-generated ones. Those who publish or threaten to publish these revenge pornography images are subject to fines and/or prison. Both President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, who championed the bill, announced the legislation signing during an event in the Rose Garden at the White House. The "Take It Down" bill had overwhelming congressional support, with the House of Representatives passing it in a 409-2 vote last month.
