Holiday nostalgia: Retro shopping footage

Holiday hiring for part-time and full-time jobs is in full swing for major retailers and package delivery companies. 

The holiday shopping period is the busiest time of year for online and brick-and-mortar retailers, some of which have already announced events to entice consumers planning to shop early for gifts.

Here’s a look below at who is hiring.

USPS seasonal jobs

The Postal Service announced that it is looking for up to 14,000 holiday assistants to help sort mail and packages in many states.

For example, in California, the agency is looking to fill about 120 temporary holiday positions in post offices across the state.

USPS is also hosting special hiring events to provide information and application assistance to interested candidates.

Bath & Body Works seasonal jobs

Bath & Body Works said the company will hire more than 30,000 seasonal associates across the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.

The company will hire part-time retail associates to support its nearly 1,900 North American stores, along with more than 2,000 full-time roles at its five Ohio-based distribution centers.

Michaels seasonal jobs

Michaels announced plans to hire more than 10,000 seasonal positions to help customers celebrate the holiday season.   

Last year, Michaels converted more than 50% of seasonal in-store positions into regular roles following the holidays. 

 In addition to hiring 10,000 seasonal tam members, Michaels will also offer current team members opportunities to work extra hours throughout the holiday season.  

Amazon seasonal jobs

Amazon is planning to hire 250,000 employees during the holidays.

Weekly openings for full-time, part-time and seasonal positions are posted on the tech company’s website from October through December.
