Isaias weakens to post tropical cyclone

Hurricane Isaias made landfall near Destin, Florida, last night as a Category 2 storm before weakening to Category 1. The storm is expected to weaken further as it moves inland this weekend, tracking through Alabama toward Tennessee, though gusty winds remain possible. Heavy rain and flooding threaten parts of Alabama, Georgia and the Florida Panhandle, while tornadoes are possible across those areas and the Carolinas. Isaias is the first hurricane of an unusually quiet Atlantic hurricane season.
