US & Iran trade strikes after Trump ends ceasefire
Dr. Asaf Romirowsky with the Scholars for Peace in the Middle East weighs in after the U.S. Central Command says it carried out another wave of strikes against Iran on Wednesday, targeting about 90 military sites along the country's coastline. According to CENTCOM, the strikes hit air defense systems, missile and drone storage facilities, naval assets, surveillance sites, and military logistics infrastructure. Officials say the operation was aimed at weakening Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping and civilian vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, following another round of U.S. strikes carried out the previous night. The AP responded to the strikes by targeting Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar in crossfire. President Trump ordered more strikes on Iran while in Turkey for a NATO summit.
