NYC terror attack plot 'inspired by ISIS,' police say

Two men have been charged in an alleged terror plot inspired by ISIS, officials said during a press conference on Monday. Emir Balat and Ibrahim Kayumi were taken into custody and charged after two homemade explosive devices were thrown outside Gracie Mansion on Saturday, the residence of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and his wife. Far-right demonstrators were clashing with counter-protestors outside the residence when the bombs were thrown. NYPD Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch joined other New York officials to give an update on the case.
