Hawaii doctor convicted of attempted manslaughter

We are learning more after a Hawaii anesthesiologist who was accused of trying to murder his wife has now been convicted of the lesser charge of attempted manslaughter. A jury in Honolulu returned the verdict against Gerhardt Konig on Wednesday. The charge, attempted manslaughter based on extreme mental or emotional disturbance, carries up to 20 years in prison. Konig’s attorney, Thomas Otake, said he planned to appeal.
