Sen. Bernie Sanders Calls on Graham Platner Exit Maine Senate Race

Progressive Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is calling on Maine Senate candidate and Democratic nominee Graham Platner to exit the campaign following recent sexual assault allegations.  “I have spoken with Graham Platner about the best path forward for Maine," Sanders stated. "In light of these very serious allegations, I have recommended that he step aside.”   Platner's challenge to incumbent Sen. Susan Collins is considered a must-win for Democrats hoping to control the Senate. If Platner decides to withdraw, Democrats face a strict July 13th deadline to legally replace him on the November ballot
