3 men exonerated in 1997 Philadelphia murder

On Tuesday, a Philadelphia judge vacated the convictions of three men in the 1997 murder of an elderly woman in her North Philadelphia home after new forensic evidence discredited expert testimony about the victim’s time of death, undermining the prosecution’s core theory at trial. District Attorney Larry Krasner said all three men could be released as soon as the end of that same day after spending nearly 30 years in prison.
