Former CSU student sues fraternity for alleged assault

A former Colorado State University student has filed a civil lawsuit against the Phi Delta Theta fraternity and a former member, accusing the organization of negligence following an alleged October 2024 sexual assault at an off-campus house. The lawsuit claims that multiple fraternity members orchestrated the incident by drugging the woman at a party before she was taken to the chapter house and raped. While local law enforcement did not request criminal charges, university officials confirmed that a Title IX investigation found the accused student responsible for violating school policy, resulting in his one-year suspension. Westword's Hannah Metzger joins LiveNOW's Shawna Khalafi to discuss the case.
