U.S-Iran nuclear talks clear first hurdle

The United States and Iran held indirect talks in Oman on Friday regarding Tehran’s nuclear program, months after U.S. airstrikes targeted Iran’s uranium enrichment sites and just weeks after nationwide protests shook the Islamic Republic. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi described the discussions as “a very good start,” while both sides met separately with Oman’s top diplomat at a palace on the outskirts of Muscat, the country’s capital.
