Aisha Wahab wins CA special election to replace Swalwell

Democrat Aisha Wahab won a highly-contested special election to represent California's 14th Congressional District. She defeated Melissa Hernandez, the president of the Bay Area Rapid Transit board, to serve the remaining months in former Rep. Eric Swalwell's term. Wahab is now the first Afghan American to serve in the U.S. Congress. Swalwell resigned from Congress and suspended his campaign for California governor after allegations of sexual assault and misconduct.
