Former Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner has withdrawn from the race following a rape accusation, triggering political fallout. On Friday, Platner posted a formal statement on X after submitting his withdrawal to the Maine Department of the Secretary of State's Division of Elections. In the statement, he blamed the media and the political establishment for his decision. "I write to formally withdraw my candidacy for United States Senate," Platner wrote.
