Witnesses detail fatal track meet stabbing

Opening statements began Thursday in the murder trial of 19-year-old Karmelo Anthony, who is accused of fatally stabbing 17-year-old Austin Metcalf during an argument at a Frisco ISD track meet on April 2, 2025. The trial is expected to last about two weeks, and if convicted, Anthony faces five to 99 years or life in prison.
