Israel strikes Gaza targets ending 25-day ceasefire

The Israeli Defense Forces announced they had struck targets inside Gaza early Wednesday morning, ending a ceasefire in hostilities that began in late May after the worst clashes in the region since Summer of 2014 between Hamas and Israel. Israel justified these most recent strikes as retaliation for what they described as provocative acts taken by Hamas in the form of balloons carrying explosives that floated over Israeli-occupied territory that caused fires on the ground.
