New Carnival cruise ship 'Mardi Gras' officially arrives in Port Canaveral

Carnival Cruise Line's newest and now largest vessel in its fleet officially docked in Port Canaveral, FL on Friday morning after a 14-day voyage from Barcelona, Spain. The ship will feature a variety of new-to-Carnival amenities like BOLT, the first roller coaster at sea, an ocean-facing atrium, a two-deck tiki bar by the pool, and two dozen dining options. It is the first LNG (liquefied natural gas)-powered cruise ship in North America. LNG is a cleaner-burning fuel that eliminates soot and sulfur oxides that would normally go into the atmosphere. Mardi Gras will accommodate more than 5,200 guests and a crew of 2,000. Guests will have the choice of more than 2,600 staterooms and 180 suites across 11 categories.
