New SNAP rules in effect, how to plan for changes
It has been reported that around 42 million low-income Americans rely on the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program, known as SNAP or food stamps, to buy groceries. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), which oversees the program, is currently working on a major overhaul to combat waste, fraud, and abuse. As part of this effort, the Trump administration's new requirements for the SNAP program became effective on December 1st, intended to reform the system.
