Major Western nations recognize Palestinian state

We learned at the start of this week that a number of major Western nations are officially recognizing Palestinian statehood. This comes as the U.N. General Assembly is underway in New York. We now know that France, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Portugal are among those making the move.
