News literacy: How to learn about complex topics

Normally during the week, Dr. Alon Burstein and LiveNOW’s Austin Westfall will cover the latest developments in the Israel-Hamas War or the politics surrounding the battlefield. However, today they are talking about news literacy. A recently published article from the Guardian says data from the Israeli military itself suggests an 83% civilian death rate in the Gaza War. Dr. Burstein is a visiting Assistant Professor at Tufts University and joins Austin to give some tips and tricks for consuming the news when it relates to complex geopolitical topics.
