U.S. agency to probe Newark air traffic control shift
A watchdog for the U.S. Department of Transportation announced Monday that it is launching a probe into the Federal Aviation Administration's decision to relocate some Newark air traffic controllers to Philadelphia. The Office of the Inspector General at the Transportation Department said they are investigating whether the relocations caused staffing shortages, prompting the serious communication outages between air traffic controllers at Newark Liberty International Airport in the spring.
