Hurricane Helene aftermath causes wildfire threat
Hurricane Helene cleanup efforts in East Tennessee are up against a tight deadline as crews work to finish the project by June. The vacation town of Chimney Rock, North Carolina, also remains severely damaged after Hurricane Helene left a line of destruction across the southeast back in September. It?s been around nine months since major storms blew through The Great Smoky Mountains in North Carolina and Tennessee and now, many of the trees that were taken down in the region?s forests last year are making it difficult for crews to fight wildfires this year.
