5 people injured in CA court explosion

A suspect who allegedly set off an explosive device in the lobby of the Santa Maria Courthouse has been detained, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office. Five people were injured in the explosion. No court staff members were injured. The suspect, 20-year-old Nathaniel McGuire, was arrested as he tried to get into his car after the explosion. Authorities said McGuire was wearing body armor under his jacket. The undersheriff said McGuire may have been motivated by a recent firearms arrest. He was due to be in court in the same department where he's accused of setting off the explosive. McGuire will be booked on several felony charges including attempted murder, according to the undersheriff. The FBI is also investigating the incident.
