Uvalde shooting: School superintendent refuses to answer questions about saying students were safe
The Uvalde, Texas, school district superintendent made public comments for the first time since the tragic shooting at Robb Elementary that killed 19 students and two adults. Superintendent Hal Harrell refused to answer a number of questions from reporters regarding an email sent to parents saying children at the school were safe when evidence shows the shooting was still ongoing. Harrell was also confronted with information that he himself sent social media postings also saying the students were safe. The administrator hosting the meeting twice took microphones away from reporters asking questions about those notices to parents.
