Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels fired another ballistic missile at Israel early Tuesday morning, triggering sirens across the center of the country as well as in southern Israel, for the third time in less than a week. The Israel Defense Forces said it managed to intercept the missile before it entered Israeli airspace. According to a military source, the projectile was shot down using the long-range Arrow air defense system, which is designed to take out ballistic missiles outside of the atmosphere. The U.S. Central Command says their forces conducted 'precision airstrikes' against a missile storage facility they say was being operated by Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen. They added that they conducted the airstrikes to 'disrupt and degrade Houthi operations, such as attacks against U.S. Navy warships and merchant vessels in the Southern Red Sea, Bab al-Mandeb, and Gulf of Aden.'
