Kirk assassination suspect appears by video from jail

We have learned today that prosecutors plan to file a notice of intent to seek the death penalty against Tyler James Robinson, the man accused of killing conservative activist Charlie Kirk. In addition, prosecutors have now formally charged Robinson with aggravated murder, among other charges and a judge will eventually determine whether Robinson could face the death penalty.

Charlie Kirk's killer was arrested overnight in Utah, officials announced Friday morning. Tyler Robinson, 22, is in custody based in part on a tip from his own father and will face charges for murdering the conservative political activist earlier this week.

Kirk, who a founder of Turning Point USA, died after he was shot while speaking at a Utah Valley University event in Orem, Utah. A day after the deadly shooting, the right-wing political figure was flown back to Phoenix.

UPDATE: Officials have person of interest in custody

After much confusion over who might be detained over the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the FBI announced they have a person of interest in custody, who is separate from the first person reportedly arrested during the shooting today.
