Coinciding with Earth Day, Gov. Gavin Newsom on Wednesday announced the addition of three new state parks in the Central Valley — pushing the statewide total to 283 parks — which he said is the biggest expansion of the park system in decades.

This comes after the September 2025 discovery of the victim’s body, which police say was found dismembered in the entertainer’s Tesla. Hernandez’s family had reported her missing from her hometown of Lake Elsinore, California, roughly 70 miles southeast of Los Angeles. We are now learning that D4vd pleaded not guilty on Monday to the murder charge.

$267 million California hospice fraud takedown

We are watching as California Attorney General Rob Bonta and the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) announce the takedown of a $267 million healthcare fraud ring in the state. Bonta said during a press conference detailing the operation on Thursday that the investigation culminated with search and arrest warrants executed at 12 locations across Southern California. Known as "Operation Skip Trace," law enforcement reportedly seized $757,000 in cash and two firearms during the raids.
