The historic shutdown will go on for now, with actors remaining on strike and no talks planned, though the tentative deal announced Sunday night may provide momentum that could lead to a resolution for them too. That would allow full production to resume for the first time since May. The governing boards of the two branches of the Writers Guild of America are likely to vote on the contract Tuesday. With their approval, writers will then vote on the deal, and the strike can officially end. Network shows including NBC?s ?The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon? and ABC?s ?Jimmy Kimmel Live!? could return to the air within days.

The National Hurricane Center has highlighted a disturbance several hundred miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands in the eastern tropical Atlantic, noting that a tropical depression is likely to form within the next two to three days. If it becomes a tropical storm with winds of at least 39 mph, this system will earn the name Rina.

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) ? A major cyberattack has hobbled government operations in Bermuda, with officials struggling to restore service. Premier David Burt said Monday that the government is trying to identify what happened and how, adding that he could not provide details because it was a matter of national security. ?It is clear that this was a sophisticated and deliberate attack that has resulted in unprecedented stress on basic government systems,? he said. The attack occurred Wednesday night and was noticed Thursday morning, Burt said. He said critical areas like transport, education and the island?s hospital have been operating as normal. But he added that it could take a couple of weeks for all services to be fully restored.

ATLANTA - Vice President Kamala Harris is heading to Atlanta on Tuesday as part of her "Fight for Our Freedoms" college tour. The vice president is expected to arrive at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport around noon and head to Morehouse College. There, she'll meet with students from HBCUs including Morehouse, Spelman, Clark Atlanta, and Morris Brown. White House officials say that Harris will discuss topics including reproductive freedom, gun safety, climate change, and voting rights. Morehouse will be the fifth stop on the vice president's month-long college tour aimed at mobilizing young voters on key issues. Harris and President Joe Biden spoke to HBCU leaders Monday, and among those present were representatives from metro Atlanta colleges.

The family already settled with the DCF Suncoast Center and child abuse pediatrician Dr. Sally Smith who once worked for the center, but is no longer employed by the organization.
