The Senate confirmed Jeanine Pirro as the U.S. attorney for Washington D.C. on Saturday during a rare weekend session. Pirro, who was a New York judge and prosecutor and former Fox News host, was one of the many Trump nominees still on the docket to be confirmed by the upper chamber of Congress ahead of the scheduled August recess. She was confirmed by a 50-45 vote along party lines to the role, which she held on an interim basis since May.

Russia says they have more nuclear submarines position across the globe than the U.S. This comes after President Trump ordered nuclear submarines to be repositioned in Russia. Earlier in the week Russia threated the President Trump, saying that he should remember two things. One, Russia is not Israel and Iran and two, each new threat is a step towards war. President Trump on Friday announced he is removing the head of the agency that produces the monthly jobs figures after a report showed hiring slowed in July and was much weaker in May and June than previously reported. Trump claimed the figures were manipulated for political reasons, and said the Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics Erika Mcentarfer, who was appointed by former President Joe Biden, should be fired. "I have directed my team to fire this Biden political appointee, immediately," Trump said on Truth Social. "She will be replaced with someone much more competent and qualified." After his post, Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-Deremer said Mcentarfer was no longer leading the Bureau. Former Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics Erica L. President Trump released a statement Via Truth Social regarding the revised U.S. job numbers. Trump stated: "In my opinion, today's Jobs Numbers were RIGGED in order to make the Republicans, and ME, look bad --- Just like when they had three great days around the 2024 Presidential Election, and then, those numbers were 'taken away' on November 15, 2024, right after the Election, when the Jobs Numbers were massively revised DOWNWARD, making a correction of over 818,000 jobs --- A TOTAL SCAM."

President Donald Trump addressed reporters outside the White House regarding the revised U.S. job numbers, released Friday morning. Trump said that the report was "rigged" and says it was a partisan witch hunt that favors the Democrats and not the Republicans.

President Trump is ordering two nuclear submarines to be positioned in regions near Russia in response to threats from former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. The President releasing a statement Via Truth Social: "I have ordered two Nuclear Submarines to be positioned in the appropriate regions, just in case these foolish and inflammatory statements are more than just that."

Ghislaine Maxwell, the convicted sex trafficker and associate of Jeffrey Epstein has been moved to a federal prison in Texas.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order Thursday night imposing new tariffs on 68 countries and the European Union. Friday's tariff deadline has been pushed back to Aug. 7., so that the tariff schedule can be updated.

Former President Joe Biden delivered remarks at the National Bar Association's 100th annual gala in Chicago on Thursday evening. His speech came approximately two months after he publicly disclosed he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. The National Bar Association is the oldest and largest network of African American lawyers, judges and law academics in the country. During his remarks, Biden touted his and his administration's efforts to uplift and better represent the Black community. He called on gala attendees to "lead the charge" in fighting for American constitutional rights, and "chart the course" for the next 100 years of the National Bar Association.
