Scotland hosted King Charles III and his wife Queen Camilla during a celebration of their coronation two months ago. Thousands lined the streets of Edinburgh Tuesday, some showing respect and admiration from the monarch while others booed and held signs reading 'not my king.'
The photograph shows King Charles III wearing his crown dressed in full royal regalia while holding Sovereign's Orb and Sovereign's Sceptre with Cross.
Top moments that stood out on social media included a red feather, a kiss, and, of course, the facial expressions of little Prince Louis.
King Charles III has been crowned at Westminster Abbey, the final mile of a seven-decade journey from heir to monarch.
In some reports, costs are projected to reach $125 million.
The first lady will represent the US at the coronation since President Joe Biden can't attend the event. No American president has ever attended a British coronation.
Most of the Commonwealth's 56 member nations are former colonies of the British Empire. In some countries, many view King Charles' coronation as an occasion to recall colonialism’s painful and bloody past.
UK Republicans argue that the monarchy is outdated and undemocratic, and that the country should be a republic with an elected head of state. The call for a republic has gained momentum in recent years.
Camilla was long reviled as the other woman in Charles' marriage to Diana. After years of being torn apart by the tabloids, the 75-year-old has won over much of the British public with her down-to-earth humor and charitable work.

With his coronation less than two weeks away, King Charles III and Buckingham Palace are working swiftly to show the new king at work, including staging his first overseas state visit.
Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said it would be “a spectacular and fitting tribute" to the monarch, who is also commander-in-chief of the U.K. armed forces.

Charles will be formally crowned on May 6 – a particularly important date for Prince Harry and Meghan as the day coincides with their son Archie's 4th birthday.
The palace says that rather than commission a new crown, as is customary, Camilla will modify Queen Mary’s crown using diamonds from Queen Elizabeth II’s personal collection.
The rose of England, the thistle of Scotland, the daffodil of Wales and the shamrock of Northern Ireland form a picture of St. Edward’s Crown, which will be placed on the new king’s head when he is crowned May 6 at Westminster Abbey.
"Christmas is a particularly poignant time for all of us who have lost loved ones," Charles said. "We feel their absence ... and remember them in each cherished tradition."
After the death of Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles III gave his first address on Sept. 9, 2022, pledging to uphold the constitutional principles in the U.K. "I shall endeavor to serve you with loyalty, respect, and love as I have throughout my life," he pledged.
