This includes Camp Mystic, where 27 young girls and staffers were killed in flooding last summer. The camp continues to face scrutiny for the handling of their response to the floods. We are learning more after the National Transportation Safety Board said Thursday that a critical runway safety system did not ​activate before the March 22 collision between an Air Canada Express ‌jet and a fire truck that killed two pilots. According to Fox News, the report found that an air traffic control tower’s local controller cleared an airport rescue vehicle to cross an active runway even as a regional jet was on a short final approach.
