Generic medications will be added to the program, and is part of the Trump administration’s push to lower the cost of prescription drugs for Americans. Billionaire Mark Cuban attended the event at the White House, who also sells discounted generic prescriptions through his online pharmacy, Cost Plus Drugs. Health and Human Services Secretary RFK Jr. and Administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Service Dr. Mehmet Oz were also in attendance. Prior to this announcement, TrumpRX only offered discounts on select brand-name drugs. Trump then took questions from reporters about Iran, the Monday shooting in San Diego, the Ebola outbreak and more.
