LAPD pursuit of carjacking subject ends on foot
Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department were in pursuit of a carjacking suspect in Los Angeles County, primarily in the San Fernando Valley, on Friday morning. Aerial images from SkyFOX showed the driver was traveling at speeds of over 100 mph on the 101 and 170 freeways. The pursuit started in the Sherman Oaks area and continued into other Valley neighborhoods, including Studio City, North Hollywood, Valley Glen, and Sun Valley. Officials said they believe there were two people inside the vehicle. By 9 a.m., the suspect had reached speeds of nearly 130 mph on the 170 Freeway. The suspect then got back onto the southbound 101 Freeway as he was seen weaving in and out of traffic. Just before 9:10 a.m., the pursuit continued in Hollywood where the suspect was met by morning rush hour traffic at the intersection of N. Cahuenga Boulevard and Franklin Avenue. A short time later, the suspect got back onto the 101 Freeway in the Hollywood Hills and led authorities back to the Valley. The suspect hit a trash can in a Sun Valley neighborhood, turned around, and moments later, the pursuit came to an end. The suspect stopped at an apartment building at the intersection of Rynnymede Street and Lankershim Boulevard where he, along two others, casually got out of the vehicle. The driver was taken into custody while someone else in the vehicle made a run for it. The passenger was subsequently taken into custody at what appeared to be a tire shop nearby.

FBI: New Orleans rampage ?100%' inspired by ISIS
The Army veteran who drove a pickup truck into a crowd of New Year?s revelers in New Orleans acted alone, the FBI said Thursday, reversing its position from a day earlier that he likely worked with others in the deadly attack that officials said was inspired by the Islamic State group. The FBI also revealed that the driver, Shamsud-Din Jabbar, an American citizen from Texas, posted five videos on his Facebook account in the hours before the attack in which he proclaimed his support for the militant group and previewed the violence that he would soon unleash in the famed French Quarter district. Ken Gray, a retired FBI Special Agent, joined LiveNOW from FOX to discuss.

NOLA attack latest: FBI says suspect acted alone
Shamsud-Din Jabbar grew up in Texas, joined the U.S. Army and eventually settled in Houston, where he spun up a real estate business and made $120,000 a year for one of the world?s largest consulting firms. But the 42-year-old U.S. citizen, who authorities say plowed a rented truck through New Year?s revelers in New Orleans before being shot and killed by police, also faced pressures. He finalized a third divorce in 2022, saying in filings he couldn?t pay his mortgage and his business was losing money. On Thursday, authorities and relatives were still piecing together why Jabbar barreled through a crowd in a Ford F-150 on Bourbon Street, killing 14 revelers and injuring at least 30 others. Officials said the attack was inspired by the Islamic State group, making it one of the deadliest IS-inspired assaults on U.S. soil in years. Phil Carter, Principal and Founder of Sierra Consulting, joined LiveNOW from FOX's Josh Breslow to discuss.
