Terrorism charges brought against alleged gang leader

The Department of Justice announced it is bringing terrorism charges against an alleged Tren de Aragua high-ranking member. This marks the first charges of its kind brought against the Venezuelen gang, commonly called TdA. Jose Enrique Martinez Flores, also known as "Chuqui," has been chargedc with conspiring to provide and providing material support to a designated foreign terrorist group. He was also charged with conspiracy and and drug distribution with intent for it to reach the United States. ?TdA is not a street gang ? it is a highly structured terrorist organization that put down roots in our country during the prior administration,? Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a statement. FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the charges against Flores, who was arrested by Colombian authorities on in March, according to a U.S. arrest warrant. These charges comes after a massive effort by the Trump administration to deport hundreds of TdA members.
