The recall for a popular waxing kit has been expanded due to possible fire and risks after some have reported overheating.

About 14,700 units of Lomi Roll-On Waxing Kit with Wax Cartridge & Strips were recalled, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

What we know:

In the recall notice from the CPSC, the importer, Southern Telecom, said they received reports of the warmer power cords overheating.

The recalled products

The two models impacted (LOMB2003PK and LOMB2004PK), were sold at Ross, DD’s, and Burlington stores around the country.

The boxes for each kit included a handheld wax warmer, a wax cartridge, wax strips, a power cord and the user manual. The logo is also printed on the front of the white and pink warmer and on the outside of the package.

What's next:

Southern Telecom is asking for anyone who purchased one of those kits to stop using them immediately. To receive a refund, consumers are asked to cut the cord in half and upload a picture of it to a website to receive a full refund.

The backstory:

In June 2024, another 19,500 units were recalled after a couple of the power cords overheated or short-circuited. Two people were burned in those cases.
