Ike Turner Jr., son of Tina and Ike Turner, dies at 67: Reports

Ike Turner Jr., the son of Tina Turner and Ike Turner, has passed away at 67 years old, according to reports. 

According to TMZ, Tina Turner’s niece, Jacqueline Bullock, said that Ike Turner Jr. passed away on Saturday at a Los Angeles hospital due to kidney failure. Bullock told TMZ that he had struggled with serious heart problems for years and that his health had been deteriorating for some time. She also revealed that he had suffered a stroke in early September.

According to USA Today, singer Afida Turner — the wife of Ike Turner Jr.’s late half-brother, Ronnie Turner — announced his passing in an Instagram post on October 5. In her caption, she wrote, "Rest in peace Ike Jr." and described him as an "amazing brother-in-law." 

She also shared that she was "glad" to have spoken with him on the phone before his death.

According to TMZ, Ike Turner Jr. was born in 1958 to Ike Turner Sr. and Lorraine Taylor, and was later adopted by Tina Turner early in his life. He grew up surrounded by his parents’ whirlwind musical careers. 

After Tina’s split from Ike Sr., Ike Jr. briefly worked as her sound engineer, though their professional collaboration was short-lived. One of four children connected to Tina and Ike’s legendary partnership, Ike Jr. mostly stayed out of the public eye in later years but maintained ties to both of his parents’ legacies. 

Ike Turner Sr. passed away in 2007, while Tina Turner died in 2023.
