Three people were hurt after a house exploded Monday in a neighborhood north of St. Louis, Missouri.

What we know:

Authorities reported that a blast occurred at about 9:13 a.m. on the 13800 block of Evan Aire Drive in unincorporated north St. Louis County, causing "widespread damage" to nearby homes.

The Black Jack fire chief told local news outlets that five homes were burning, with "not much left of them."
