Powerball jackpot hits $950 million; 6th largest ever

The Powerball jackpot has spiked to $950 million, with a cash option of $428.9 million, after no lottery ticket had all the winning numbers from Wednesday night’s drawing. 

Players will have the chance to win this huge prize, which is the sixth largest ever, during the next drawing on Saturday, Aug. 30 at 11 p.m. ET.

Although no one won the $815 million jackpot on Wednesday, there were three lottery winners from Mississippi, Ohio and Virginia who walked away with $2 million when they won the Match 5 + Power Play option.

The New York Post reported that three other ticket holders from Arizona, New York and Virginia won $1 million for matching all five white balls.
