A kitten that was found stuck inside a bucket of glue has found his forever home.
The kitten, fittingly named Elmer, was adopted by his foster family last month, according to a Facebook post from the Humane Society of North Texas (HSNT).
What they're saying:
"One of Elmer’s previous fosters, who first stepped in to care for him after he was found submerged in industrial glue, expressed interest in adopting him with no expectations, simply a desire to help," the humane society said.
"We are honored to share that she has been selected as Elmer’s adopter, giving this globally known kitten the loving home he was always meant to have," HSNT added.
Elmer's new pet parent recently lost her husband to cancer, HSNT said. When she was given a chance to foster Elmer, "he brought a sense of comfort, joy, and connection" back into her life.
The backstory:
Elmer was just six weeks old when he was discovered inside a bucket of glue in April, according to the humane society.
The kitten was covered "from ear to tail" in the glue, making it impossible for him to eat or drink anything.
He arrived at the humane society severely dehydrated.
The veterinary team worked tirelessly to dissolve the adhesive from Elmer’s fur and were able to stabilize him.
