The death toll increased on Friday, with at least 10 people killed in the storm. At its peak, more than 4 million customers were without electricity in the state. St. Lucie County Emergency Operations Center reports at least six people were killed when several tornadoes swept through Florida's St. Lucie County on Wednesday, as the outer bands of Hurricane Milton hit inland hours ahead of its eventual landfall as a Category 3 storm. Jansen and Travis Putnam were set to be married at the Biltmore in Asheville, NC. Their plans were sidetracked as Hurricane Helene hit the city, trapping them inside the hotel, and forcing the wedding to be canceled.
